About The Music of Minecraft
About "Minecraft" the game, and the music of c418
"Minecraft" is one most beloved and best-selling video games of all time, and it's been one of the most popular games for nearly 20 years, capturing the hearts of gamers both young not so young (including yours truly!). The vast number of hours that hundreds of millions of gamers around the world have experienced engrossed in their very own Minecraft worlds make the game's music deeply nostalgic and comforting.
Now, for the first time, this music is available to both traditional and contemporary choirs through the "Minecraft: Choir Edition" series at KerryMarsh.com! This series of arrangements features a wide variety of voicing types and challenge levels to serve the many choral ensemble who would like to rehearse and perform this wonderful music composed by Daniel Roselfeld (a.k.a. "418"). All arrangements are wordless, using simple syllables to create beautiful choral textures and to transport your listeners back to a magical world of exploration, discovery and creativity.
"Sweden" (also known as "Calm 3") is very well-known to Minecraft players, as it's one of the most regularly heard pieces of music while the player moves around their unique world of blocks. This four-part arrangement, with piano accompaniment, uses varying vocal textures to create a slight build from its sparse intro, also implementing a vocal "pizzicato strings" effect, as is heard in the original version. "Sweden" is appropriate for beginning and intermediate choirs and vocal jazz groups. The arrangement features no solos, making it logistically easy for large choirs and four-voice groups alike to put together.
