Kelly Kunz

Kelly is a multidimensional, experienced musician who has worked as a music professional in many capacities for the last 25 years and counting. As a vocalist, songwriter/arranger, bassist, and producer; Kelly has worked on many CD projects, commercials and professional music industry production and promotional packages. 


Working as an educator since 1983, Kelly has held several teaching positions on the high school and collegiate level. His vocal jazz ensembles on all levels have been highly successful and consistent award winners. He directs the group, Farwest Jazz, at Pierce College in Tacoma, and also directs the vocal jazz ensemble “Park Avenue” at Pacific Lutheran University. In addition to being an educator, clinician, and performer; Kelly owns and operates his own recording studio. 


As a performer he has shared the stage with Kenny G, Joe Williams, Mark Murphy, Richie Cole, Rob McConnell, and Bobby McFerrin. Kelly works regularly as a studio singer and arranger; he is an active voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and has been a nationally published vocal jazz arranger since 1977. 


He received both his Bachelor of Arts and his Masters in Music Education from Central Washington University and is now considered one of the top vocal jazz music educators in the country.
