The smooth samba from Peter Eldridge's "Mad Heaven" album, this chart features a baritone soloist and some great ensemble moments throughout. Peter's brilliant-yet-wholly-accessible harmonic writing sets up the vocal jazz ensemble perfectly for appropriately warm and lush chord voicings, and his lyric (co-written with Doug Worth) is loaded with metaphor and layered meaning that will give group an opportunity to tell an interesting story through their interpretation. Concluding with a rousing repeated (and ultimately reharmonized) wordless section, this chart would serve well in any part of your set!
