STARTER SERIES
This arrangement of the powerful song by the band MercyMe is arranged simply but effectively, with no solo breakouts to make it a strong feature for traditional choirs as well as contemporary vocal groups. The fully-notated piano part can stand alone as accompaniment, and adding the bass and drums parts will just give the piece greater impact. The lyric was by a friend of MercyMe who lost all four limbs in an accident and successfully fought to recover aspects of his life that seemed impossible to regain, and the arrangement was commissioned in dedication to a student at Great Bend High School (incidentally, my alma mater) who lost the use of his legs in an accident and carried the same positive attitude into his own recovery. From the point of view of this song, the narrator dares anyone to doubt their ability to achieve their dreams in spite of great difficulty, making it a powerfully inspirational story for any choir to tell.
